Azerbaijani banks see 1% growth in assets

As of April 1, 2021, the assets of Azerbaijan-based banks assets amounted to AZN 32,521.4 million, up 0.9% from a year earlier, Report informs citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
Of this, the loans issued to customers amounted to AZN 13,189.6 million. The loan portfolio shrank 4.1%, the share of loans in assets decreased from 42.7% to 40.6%.
In the reporting period, the liabilities grew by 0.7% to AZN 27,672.0 million with the deposit portfolio risen by 2.3% to AZN 21,050.5 million. Individuals accounted for AZN 8,012.8 million, while legal entities made up AZN 13,037.7 million.
The liabilities of the banks to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) rose by 5.9% to AZN 371.4 million, and net worth surged by 2.3% to AZN 4,849.4 million.
