Azerbaijan's securities market grows by 20%

In 2021, transactions worth 16,879,300,000 manats (19.5% more than last year) were carried out in the securities market of Azerbaijan.

According to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, 8,353,000,000 manats of the 12-month indicator formed in the primary market (about 8.2% less) and 8,526,300,000 manats - in the secondary market (67.7% more).

Some 12,566 (99.6% more than 2020) deals were concluded in the securities market during the reporting period. Thus, 2,702 deals were closed in the primary market (81.2% more) and 9,864 – in the secondary market (2.1 times more).

In 2021, 7,287,800,000 manats or 43.2% of transactions in the securities market of Azerbaijan were related to government securities, 2,395,100,000 manats or 14.2% - to corporate securities, and 7,196,300,000 or manats 42.6% - to repo transactions.

This is 15.5% and 28.6% less and 3.3 times more, respectively, than a year ago.
