Azerbaijan becomes top destination for remittances from Georgia

Azerbaijan became the top destination for remittances from Georgia in July 2026, overtaking last year"s leader, Türkiye.

According to Report.az"s Georgian bureau, citing the National Bank of Georgia, a total of $39 million, or 102.8 million lari, was transferred from the country abroad during the month.

The volume of remittances increased by 4.7% compared with July 2025.

A total of $6.985 million was transferred from Georgia to Azerbaijan. Türkiye ranked second with $6.435 million, followed by Russia with $3.663 million.

In July last year, Türkiye received the largest volume of remittances from Georgia.

The top 10 destinations also included Ukraine with $2.436 million, Uzbekistan with $2.43 million, Greece with $2.247 million, Kazakhstan with $1.916 million, Italy with $1.395 million, Germany with $1.168 million, and Armenia with $1.029 million.
