Average salary in Azerbaijan up almost 13%

In January of this year, the average monthly nominal salary of hired workers in Azerbaijan's economy amounted to 1,063 manats ($625), which is 12.8% higher compared to the same period last year, Report informs referring to the State Statistics Committee.

As of February 1 of this year, the number of hired workers in the country's economy was 1.757 million people, of which 879,500 people worked in the public sector of the economy, and 877,500 people in the non-state sector.

The largest number of hired workers were employed in trade; 18.7% in repair of vehicles, 18.7% in education, and 13.7% in industry. Higher average monthly nominal wages were observed in the mining industry, financial and insurance activities, information and communications, transport and warehousing, as well as in the field of professional, scientific and technical activities.
