In January-March of this year, the average monthly nominal salary of hired workers in Azerbaijan rose by 9.3 % compared to the same period last year and amounted to 985.3 manats ($579.59), Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
As of April 1, 2023, the number of hired workers in the country's economy reached 1,748,900 people, with 899,800 employed in the public sector and 849,100 in the private sector.
Among the hired workers, 19% occupied positions in education, 18.6% in trade, repair of transport vehicles, 12.8% in the industrial sector, 8.4% in medical and social services provided to the population, 6.6% in construction, 6.4% in state management and defense; social security, 4.2% in transport and storage, 3.8% in professional, scientific, and technical activity, 3.3% in agriculture, forestry, and fishery, 2.2% in finance and insurance, and 14.7% in other economic spheres.
