Annual inflation in Turkiye in January exceeds 57%

Inflation in Turkiye in January reached an annualized rate of 57.68%, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute, Report informs referring to TASS.
In December last year, this figure was 64.27%.
At the same time, according to the independent Inflation Analysis Group, it rose to 121.62%.
Since December 2020, the Turkish authorities have been pursuing the so-called new economic policy, which focuses on strengthening the Turkish lira. However, the exchange rate of the national currency against the dollar has not significantly decreased in recent months.
