Azerbaijan is currently cooperating with the international rating agencies Standard & Poor’s and Fitch Ratings, Director of the Agency for Public Debt and Financial Liability Management under the Ministry of Finance Azer Mursagulov said, Report informs.
At the same time, he noted that there is no cooperation agreement with Moody’s: “Nevertheless, they still evaluate and publish our rating, because many investors are interested in Azerbaijan. Therefore, Moody’s publishes our rating every year even without an agreement with Azerbaijan.”
Mursagulov stressed that many countries cooperate with at least two rating agencies in accordance with international practice.
“If earlier credit rating agencies conducted an assessment once a year, now they publish relevant reports twice a year. All investors monitor this and regularly compare the information we provide,” he said.
Mursagulov added that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) also consults with Azerbaijan once a year and publishes reports.
