Investments in data for municipalities require time and substantial financial resources, Sunnia Durrani-Jamal, Head of the Asian Development Bank Representative Office in Azerbaijan, said during an event held within the framework of World Urban Forum 13 in Baku.
Report quotes her as saying data is being collected but is not being used effectively.
"Data is an asset, and it is worth investing in. It is necessary to understand how it can be used. A financier can help attract funding by using your data to prepare a product. This will make it possible to invest in the infrastructure needed to provide services," Durrani-Jamal said.
She also stressed that data is important not only for investment planning and service delivery, but also for demonstrating results.
