402 projects underway within Eurasian Transport Network, EDB official says

Work is underway on 402 projects within the Eurasian Transport Network, designed for the period up to 2035, Alexander Zaboev, Head of the Center for Integration Studies at the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), stated at the presentation "Infrastructure of Transport Corridors in Eurasia: Development Results and Key Investment Trends," Report informs.

"About 300 projects are currently in the active stage - this is either the construction phase or the project documentation development phase. Another hundred or so projects remain in the planning stage, meaning they are being considered at the government level. However, these projects have already been officially announced, and efforts are currently underway to attract investors to move them into the active phase - preparation and the commencement of construction work," Zaboev noted.

He specified that the total volume of capital investments in ongoing and planned projects is estimated at $345 billion.

The distribution of investments by country is as follows: Russia - $225.2 billion, Kazakhstan - $32.5 billion, Uzbekistan - $17 billion, Iran - $13.6 billion, Afghanistan - $12.5 billion, Kyrgyzstan - $10.8 billion, Mongolia - $8.5 billion, Turkmenistan - $6.1 billion, Armenia - $5.2 billion, Georgia - $4.1 billion, Azerbaijan - $3.4 billion, Tajikistan - $1.7 billion, and Belarus - $0.4 billion.
