Princess Lalla Hasnaa of Morocco attends Carpet Festival held in Baku's Old City

Princess Lalla Hasnaa of Morocco visited the Old City (or Icherisheher) in Baku as an honorary guest of the Carpet Festival.

Report informs that the princess was given detailed information about the carpets exhibited at the International Carpet Festival in Gosha Gala Square.

It was noted that Azerbaijan is one of the world's leading countries in carpet weaving. Historically famous Azerbaijani carpets, in addition to having a great impact on world culture and cultural heritage, are still exhibited in well-known museums today.

The festival coincides with the 25th anniversary of the inclusion of the Old City in the UNESCO World Heritage List and the 15th anniversary of the inclusion of the traditional art of carpet weaving of Azerbaijan in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
