Volume of transit oil via BTC decreases

In January-April 2023, 12,833,100 tons of oil were transported via Azerbaijan's main oil pipelines, 10.5% more than in the same period last year, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
Some 76.4% of transportation was carried out via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil export pipeline.
During this period, 84.8% or 8,315,800 tons of oil transported through the BTC pipeline was produced in Azerbaijan.
Some 15.2% or 1,486,600 tons of oil were imported from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, 5.95% less than in January-April 2022.
The BTC pipeline currently carries mainly oil from Azerbaijan from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) block and condensate from the Shah Deniz field. In addition, other volumes of crude oil and condensate, including oil from Turkmenistan, Russia, and Kazakhstan, are transported through the BTC.
Shareholders of BTC Co: BP (30.1%); AzBTC (25%); MOL (8.9%); Equinor (8.71%); TPAO (6.53%); Eni (5%); Total (5%), ITOCHU (3.4%); INPEX (2.5%), ExxonMobil (2.5%) and ONGC (BTC) Limited (2.36%).
