Urea production up by over 48% in Azerbaijan

In January-November 2024, 592,000 tons of carbamide (urea) were produced in Azerbaijan, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistics Committee.
This figure is 48.2% more compared to the same period in 2023.
As of December 1, there was a finished product remainder of 70,700 tons.
It should be noted that carbamide is produced at the SOCAR Carbamide plant located in the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park. The plant was commissioned on January 16, 2019, and has the capacity to produce 650,000-660,000 tons of carbamide annually using 435 million cubic meters of natural gas as raw material.
