Urea production increases in Azerbaijan by more than 4%

In January-April 2025, 196,500 tons of carbamide (urea) was produced in Azerbaijan, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistics Committee.
This amount is 4.4% more compared to the first quarter of 2024.
As of May 1, 2025, there was a finished product inventory of 19,000 tons.
Urea (nitrogen fertilizer) is produced at the SOCAR Carbamide plant in the territory of Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park. The plant was commissioned on January 16, 2019, and has the capacity to produce 650,000-660,000 tons of urea per year using 435 million cubic meters of natural gas as raw material. As much as 70% of the production volume is intended for export.
