Turkish politician: Azerbaijan's gas export to Syria to strengthen energy cooperation

The export of Azerbaijani gas to Syria via Türkiye will further strengthen energy relations with brotherly countries, Necmeddin Dönmez, the chairman of Türkiye's ruling Justice and Development Party's (AK Parti) Elbeyli district organization, told journalists before the opening ceremony of the Türkiye-Syria gas pipeline, Report informs.

Necmeddin Dönmez stated that the export of Azerbaijani gas through Turkish territory to Syria will strengthen cooperation in the energy sector:

"The delivery of Azerbaijani gas to Syria through our country will further strengthen our energy ties with brotherly countries. I am proud to be a participant in this historic event."

Dönmez noted that this important project has strategic significance for all three countries:

"I believe that this step will be beneficial for Türkiye, Azerbaijan, and Syria. I hope that Azerbaijan will continue to take active initiatives to help Syria's reconstruction and energy security."
