STAR refinery reduces crude oil imports by 44%

In August 2024, STAR Oil Refinery (SOCAR), an asset of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in Türkiye, imported approximately 514,250 tons of crude oil, 403,975 tons or 44% less compared to the same month in 2023, Report informs, citing the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA).
During the reporting period, oil refineries in Türkiye imported approximately 2,649,871 tons of crude oil, 202,834 tons or 7.1% less than a year ago.
STAR's opening was on October 19, 2018. The plant began operating at full capacity in September 2019. The plant has an annual crude oil processing capacity of 13 million tons.
