SOCAR's STAR refinery boosts jet fuel output in first half of 2025

In January–June 2025, Azerbaijan's State Oil Company SOCAR"s STAR Oil Refinery in Türkiye produced nearly 838,224 tons of kerosene-type jet fuel, Report informs, citing Türkiye's Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK).

This represents an increase of 296,936 tons, or 54.8%, compared to the same period in 2024.

In June alone, STAR Refinery produced around 178,721 tons of jet fuel-66,178 tons (58.8%) more than in June 2024.

Overall, oil refineries in Türkiye produced approximately 3,204,351 tons of jet fuel in the first six months of 2025 and 625,560 tons in June. These figures are up by 612,491 tons (23.6%) and 57,849 tons (10.2%), respectively, year-on-year.

STAR was inaugurated on October 19, 2018. The plant has been operating at full capacity since September 2019. The plant has a crude oil processing capacity of 13 million tons per year. The facility can process Urals, Azeri Light and Kirkuk oil grades. Its main products are diesel fuel (4.8 million tons), jet fuel, naphtha (1.6 million tons), liquefied petroleum gas, mixed xylene, and petroleum coke.

STAR has obtained Türkiye's first Strategic Investment Promotion Certificate.
