SOCAR releases statement about fire in Caspian Sea 

Information about the fire in the Caspian Sea on July 4 quickly spread on social networks.

According to the report, relatives of people working at sea and on platforms worried because the initial cause of the explosion was unknown. Some state bodies immediately tried to end people's concerns by issuing a statement on the issue.

At this point, the immediate intervention of SOCAR officials and SOCAR spokesman Ibrahim Ahmadov in the issue is applaudable. The initial statement said that the fire did not take place on offshore platforms or industrial facilities of SOCAR.

It eliminated the concern of the population. Later, the investigation revealed that a mud volcano eruption caused the explosion.

Along with the relevant agencies, SOCAR is also paying attention to this issue.

The mud volcano erupted about eight minutes in Dashli Ada, 30 km from the coast. The volcano last erupted in 1945. Thus, there are eight such islands in the Absheron Archipelago.
