The second meeting of the working groups on "Transit of Kazakh oil and oil products through Azerbaijan" and "Delivery and transportation of liquefied natural gas of Kazakh origin through the Caspian Sea" was held under the co-chairmanship of Deputy Energy Ministers of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan Samir Valiyev and Aset Magauov, the ministry told Report.
The co-chairs noted that despite the difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, cooperation between the two countries in various political and economic relations, including energy, continues.
The video conference discussed the prospects for increasing the transit of Kazakh oil, oil products, and liquefied gas through existing infrastructure. It was agreed that Azerbaijani and Kazakh specialists would conduct a joint technical and economic analysis in a short period to increase the transit of hydrocarbon products of Kazakh origin through the territory of our country.
Azerbaijan was represented at the event by the Ministries of Energy, Foreign Affairs, Economy, Transport, Communications and High Technologies, Emergency Situations, State Border Service, State Customs Committee, SOCAR, Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, Baku International Sea Trade Port CJSC, Azerbaijan Caspian Maritime Shipping CJSC, and on the Kazakh side the Ministries of Energy, Foreign Affairs, Industry, and Infrastructure Development, Finance, Aktau Sea Commercial Port OJSC, Batumi Oil Terminal LLC, Kazmunaygaz, Kaztransgaz, Kaztransoyl, Representatives of Kazmortransflot and Petrotrans Limited attended.
