Azerbaijan is a very important and reliable partner of Europe in gas supplies, Romanian Minister of Energy Virgil Popescu said, as quoted by Report.
"Romania wants to become part of the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC) and buy Azerbaijani gas," he said.
According to him, Romania is interested in the implementation of the Bulgaria-Romania-Austria-Hungary pipelines to become part of the modernization of the Southern Gas Corridor.
"We already discussed this issue with our partners from Azerbaijan a month ago," Popescu said, noting that the country seeks to implement projects with Azerbaijan in gas supplies and renewables.
"This is also a 'green corridor' between Romania and Georgia across the Black Sea, a 'green bridge' between the Black and Caspian Seas in renewable energy sources. There are many projects for electricity and gas," the minister said.
