Over the past 20 years, 71 new power plants with a total capacity of 4,000 MW have been commissioned in Azerbaijan, Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov said at the conference themed "20 Years of Unparalleled Services to Motherland, People and Statehood" taking place in Baku.
He noted that there are currently 93 power plants in the country with a total capacity of 8,000 MW.
“It is the attention paid to the electricity sector and the allocated government investments that allowed Azerbaijan to fully ensure its energy security and become an electricity exporting country," Ali Asadov said.
