MP: New law to help attract private sector investment in Azerbaijan's thermal energy sector

The adoption of the draft law "On Heat Supply" in Azerbaijan will create conditions for attracting private sector investment in this sector, Deputy Minister of Energy Orkhan Zeynalov said during the discussion of the said draft law in the parliament, Report informs.

He noted that this document will be the first regulatory legal act governing relations between heat supply entities, consumers and other organizations operating in the sector.

He reminded that the presidential order of April 29, 2022, instructed to develop of this draft law as part of measures to accelerate reforms and improve efficiency in the heat supply sector.

The deputy minister added that the adoption of the new law will contribute to saving energy resources and reducing emissions into the environment.
