Oil exports through Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline up 8%

The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline, a crucial conduit for Caspian oil, experienced a significant uptick in exports during May 2024.

According to Report, which refers to the latest data from the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), the pipeline transported an average of 620,000 barrels per day (bpd) last month.

This figure represents an 8% increase compared to April, when the BTC pipeline carried an average of 577,000 bpd.

The growth underscores the pipeline's vital role in delivering Azerbaijani crude oil to global markets.

Inaugurated on July 13, 2006, the BTC pipeline stretches across a vast distance of 1,768 kilometers. Its route traverses three countries: 443 km in Azerbaijan, 249 km in Georgia, and 1,076 km in Türkiye.
