Moldova is interested in importing oil products and natural gas from Azerbaijan, Report informs, citing the Moldovan Ministry of Energy.

"Energy Minister Dorin Junghietu held a number of high-level meetings during his official visit to Baku on April 4. During the talks with SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf, the minister expressed Moldova's interest in diversifying energy sources and importing oil products and natural gas from Azerbaijan," the ministry said.

Jungietu also discussed attracting investments from Azerbaijani companies to the Moldovan energy market, noting the availability of opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation.

"We seek to explore SOCAR's opportunities to export oil products and natural gas to Moldova at competitive prices compared to other countries, thereby ensuring the availability and security of energy," said Jungietu, as quoted by the Ministry of Energy.

He also raised the issue of the possibility of exchanging information on the investment climate in Moldova's energy sector in order to attract new investments and promote strategic partnership between the two countries.

On April 4, the 11th Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council Ministerial Meeting and the 3rd Green Energy Advisory Council Ministerial Meeting were held in Baku, in which the Moldovan delegation also participated.
