Mikayil Jabbarov participates in OPEC International Development Fund Forum

Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov spoke at a panel session as part of his participation in the OPEC International Development Fund Forum in Vienna, and also held a series of meetings, Report informs, citing the Economy Ministry of Azerbaijan.

As part of the forum, Mikayil Jabbarov spoke at the panel session "Promoting Resource Sustainability." The event highlighted the importance of properly utilizing the interconnections between energy, water, and food systems. It was noted that factors such as adherence to sustainable development commitments, decarbonization, strengthening partnerships that accelerate climate action, and the application of innovative solutions are of significant importance. Information was also provided about initiatives and measures implemented by Azerbaijan in this area.

Mikayil Jabbarov met with the Director General of the UN Industrial Development Organization, Gerd Müller. The meeting emphasized the importance of partnership with the organization in developing the industrial sector, promoting a sustainable economy, and strengthening international cooperation. Information about Azerbaijan's economic priorities was provided, and agenda items were discussed.

During the meeting with the Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Development Fund, which is part of the Arab Coordination Group, Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, satisfaction was expressed with the development of economic cooperation with the Kingdom in many areas, including renewable energy.

At the meeting with the Acting Director General of the Kuwait Arab Fund for Economic Development, Walid Al-Bahar, the development of economic, trade, and investment relations between Azerbaijan and Kuwait was discussed. The potential for investment cooperation on priority projects in Azerbaijan was reviewed.
