Azerbaijan has expressed its intention to double the amount of gas supplied to Europe by 2027, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said after talks with Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov in Budapest, Report informs referring to the Hungarian media.
“We welcome and respect Azerbaijan’s desire to double the capacity of pipelines by 2027 through which it can supply gas here to Europe,” he said at a joint press conference with Jabbarov.
In September, at a meeting of energy ministers of the Turkic states, Szijjártó stated that the volume of gas coming from Azerbaijan to Europe would double in the coming years, calling this the most real opportunity to diversify European energy supply.
