Head of KazMunayGas changes in Kazakhstan

The Board of the Kazakh National Wealth Fund “Samruk-Kazyna” has decided to appoint Magzum Mirzagaliyev as Chairman of the Board of the National Oil and Gas Company “KazMunayGas,” Report informs referring to TASS.

“By the decision of the board of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, in agreement with the administration of the president of Kazakhstan and the government, Magzum Mirzagaliyev has been appointed chairman of the board of National Company KazMunayGas JSC,” the report says.

Earlier, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev dismissed Mirzagaliyev from the post of adviser to the head of state.

Mirzagaliyev, 43, has served as an adviser to the head of state since January 2022. Over the years, he worked as the minister of energy of Kazakhstan, the minister of ecology, geology and natural resources.
