Gas prices in Europe increase by over 5%

Gas prices in Europe at the opening of trading on the stock exchange on April 1 rose above $1,500 per 1,000 cubic meters, Report informs referring to the data of the London Stock Exchange ICE.
The May futures price at the TTF hub in the Netherlands rose to $1,522 per 1,000 cubic meters. In general, the cost of gas has increased by 5.6% since the beginning of trading.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has recently signed a decree, which from April 1 defines a new procedure for paying for Russian gas supplies by buyers from unfriendly countries. According to the decree, such buyers will be required to open special ruble accounts in Gazprombank to pay for supplies.
