Export of Shah Deniz gas from Sangachal terminal up by nearly 5.5%

In the first six months of 2024, the Sangachal terminal exported about 110 million barrels of oil and condensate, all of which were sent through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline, Report informs, citing BP Azerbaijan.

This is 15 million barrels, or 4.3%, less year-on-year.

These volumes were exported via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC), which is the same as a year ago.

On average, 76 million standard cubic meters (about 2,683 million standard cubic feet) of Shah Deniz gas were sent from the terminal daily during the first half of 2024, 4 million cubic meters or 5.5% more than in the first half of 2023.

The daily capacity of the terminal’s processing systems is currently 1.2 million barrels of crude oil and condensate, and about 81 million standard cubic meters of Shah Deniz gas, while the overall processing and export capacity for gas, including ACG-associated gas, is around 100 million standard cubic meters per day.

Gas is exported via the South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP), including the SCP expansion system, and via Azerbaijan’s pipelines connecting the terminal’s gas processing facilities with Azerigas’s national grid system.
