Europe gas storage facilities half empty

European consumers are actively withdrawing gas from underground storage facilities - they are already less than half full, Report informs referring to the data of Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE).
The occupancy of the European underground storage facilities was 49.33% as of January 12. At the same time, a year earlier on the same day, the indicator was significantly higher - almost 65%, and in 2020 - 83%.
Europe, due to a cold, long winter (the withdrawal season ended only at the end of March 2021), spent record volumes from storage facilities - 65.6 billion cubic meters in the previous withdrawal season.
