EU countries purchased gas worth 365M euros from Azerbaijan in January 2025

The EU countries - Italy, Greece and Bulgaria - reduced gas imports from Azerbaijan by 26.4% in January 2025 compared to the same period in 2024 - to 29,324 terajoules (TJ), Report informs referring to the statistical office of the European Union (Eurostat).

According to these data, the cost of gas supplied from Azerbaijan to EU countries during the reporting period amounted to over 365.036 million euros (a decrease of 1.2%). In January, Italy purchased 29,177 TJ of natural gas from Azerbaijan (a decrease of 11.7%) for 362.991 million euros (an increase of 15.6%), while Greece and Bulgaria together purchased 0,147 TJ for 2.045 million euros.

According to Eurostat, in 2024, EU countries imported 466,998 TJ of natural gas from Azerbaijan (a decrease of 5.2%) for 4.348 billion euros (a decrease of 29.4%).
