Earthquake in Caspian Sea didn't affect bp's work in Azerbaijan

The earthquake that occurred off the coast of Azerbaijan in the Caspian Sea did not affect the onshore and offshore production processes of bp Azerbaijan, the operator of several large projects, Tamam Bayatli, the company's external relations manager, told Report.

bp Azerbaijan continues its work as usual, there are no changes in the operation of offshore platforms and the Sangachal terminal, as well as export oil and gas pipelines.

The British group is the operator of all major oil and natural gas projects in Azerbaijan - Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli and Shah Deniz. It also operates the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan main export oil pipeline and the South Caucasus gas pipeline.

On July 4 at about 12:01 am, an earthquake of magnitude 5.5 occurred in the Caspian Sea.
