China reveals oil and gas import volumes

China in January-November 2023 increased the volume of oil and natural gas imports by 12.1% and 8.5%, respectively, Report informs with reference to the General Customs Administration of the People's Republic of China.

During the reporting period, China imported 515.648 million tons of oil; in price terms, the purchase of crude oil abroad cost $307.968 billion, which is 8.1% less year-on-year. Separately, in November, China purchased 42.445 million tons of oil abroad for $27.55 billion.

The volume of natural gas imports in January-November 2023 amounted to 107.39 million tons worth $56.9 billion (in price terms there was a decrease of 8.9%). In November, China imported 10.95 million tons of natural gas for $5.78 billion.

Coal imports in the first 11 months of 2023 amounted to 427.139 million tons (an increase of 62.8%) and cost the country $47.79 billion (an increase of 24.2% in price terms). In November, China imported 43.5 million tons of coal for $4.54 billion.
