Caspian and Central Asia Oil Trading and Logistics Forum held in Baku

On 24-25 April 2025 the Oil Trading and Logistics Forum: Caspian and Central Asia was successfully held in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku.

According to Report, the forum was organised for the first time under the auspices of the international company GLENMAR Group and brought together representatives of global and national oil and gas companies, oil traders, heads of national railways from the Caspian and Central Asian countries, operators of oil terminals in the Caspian and Black Sea, merchant marine fleets, and other important market participants. The forum was held for two days and covered a wide range of issues for discussion: trade transactions under conditions of high volatility and unpredictability in the market, risk insurance and trade financing, the expansion of transport and terminal infrastructure, and many others.

Vyacheslav Mishchenko, CEO of GLENMAR Group, said that the Forum was conceived and organised as a platform for inclusive communication among all professionals in the oil and gas market, who in the current period find it increasingly difficult to get an opportunity for personal communication. "The Caspian region and Central Asia play a key role in the production, trade, and transportation of oil on the Eurasian continent. In the context of a rapidly changing political and economic environment, the Caspian and Central Asia have become important players in the global oil market, where oil-producing countries are actively expanding their trade and logistics operations," he said.

Rufat Gambarov, Head of Sustainability and Business Development Department at SOCAR Midstream Operations, noted: "This forum has become a valuable opportunity to discuss key challenges and prospects for the development of sustainable infrastructure in the region. Direct dialogue between market participants contributes to the search for effective solutions and the strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation."

At the end of the Forum, the organisers and participants unanimously noted the need to develop this platform to strengthen dialogue and business ties in the region among all market participants.
