BP supports research into Azerbaijan's ancient history

Today, BP has present to public two comprehensive research books dedicated to the study of Azerbaijan's formation as a country, Report informs.

These books, titled "Azerbaijan. Historical-geographical atlas" and "Azerbaijan. Historical-ethnographic atlas," for the first time accompany historical and ethno-cultural analyses of ancient and medieval geographical maps with scientific research texts. These scientific descriptions of maps are based on historical facts and evidence reflecting Azerbaijan's formation as an ancient state.

BP's support for this research is part of its commitment to contribute to the promotion of Azerbaijan's history and rich cultural heritage. These books, totaling 564 pages, have been published in two languages - Azerbaijani and English - to reach a wider audience.

The books represent innovative research that combines detailed cartographic analysis with historical and ethnographic documents. This unique approach provides readers with a vivid and accurate depiction of Azerbaijan's historical landscape, creating a comprehensive understanding of the people's ethnic identity through the geographical and cultural evolution of the territory and surrounding regions. The detailed analysis of historical maps and documents forms a comprehensive and accurate description of Azerbaijan's historical geography.

The author of the book is renowned scholar, prominent public and state figure, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Hasan Hasanov.

BP's Vice President for the Caspian region, Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli, stated that by supporting this project, the company aims to contribute to a broader understanding of the country's historical significance and its role in the development of the entire region: "This important research work is further proof of the richness and diversity of the history of this ancient land called Azerbaijan, as well as the magnificence of the historical and cultural heritage of this ancient civilization - the Azerbaijani Turks. We believe these books will be a valuable resource for scholars, researchers, and the general readership interested in the historical development of the region."

The presentation ceremony held today at the Baku Book Center was attended by renowned historians, scholars, researchers, and cultural figures.

Speakers at the event noted the importance of this research, emphasizing that the author's methodology and approach play a significant role in exploring the historical and geographical evolution paths of the country and the region as a whole from ancient times.

The project value was 178,540 manats ($105,000). The project was implemented by TEAS Press Publishing House.

BP will donate these books to libraries, universities, and relevant scientific research institutions.
