The first natural gas production from the free gas development project at the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea is expected by the end of this year, Tamam Bayatli, head of the press service of BP-Azerbaijan, told journalists.
Report quotes Bayatli as saying drilling has already been completed to the depth specified in the project.
"Currently, well completion works are underway. This process takes time. Alongside completion, the well must be integrated into the existing gas infrastructure. For this, additional equipment, elbows, and other technical components are being installed. As planned, once these works are finalized, first gas production is expected by year-end," Bayatli stated.
