Azerbaijani deputy minister: Green energy concept for Nakhchivan will be ready soon

The green energy concept for Nakhchivan will be ready in the coming weeks, Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Energy Orkhan Zeynalov said at the International Scientific Conference on "Sustainable Environment: Transition to Green Energy" held in Baku, Report informs.

"The technical and economic feasibility study for the Nakhchivan-Azerbaijan-Türkiye green energy corridor has been initiated, and a model for electricity export from Nakhchivan to Türkiye is being developed. As a second option in the technical and economic feasibility study, a scenario of connecting not only Nakhchivan but also the Jabrayil energy hub to Nakhchivan and Türkiye is being considered," said Zeynalov.

The deputy minister added that along with new energy projects, serious steps are being taken to strengthen and ensure the stability of the national grid: "By 2027, 2 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity will be integrated into the national power grid. By 2030, an additional 7 gigawatts of power is planned, of which 15 gigawatts will be exported to Europe. Also, 4 gigawatts will be exported via the Caspian-Black Sea Corridor, and 1 gigawatt through the Nakhchivan-Azerbaijan-Türkiye green energy corridor."
