Azerbaijani, Algerian energy ministers discuss cooperation

The Energy Minister of Azerbaijan Parviz Shahbazov, on the sidelines of the VII summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), met with the Energy and Mining Minister of Algeria Mohammad Arkab, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani Energy Ministry.

The ministers expressed satisfaction with the constructive development of cooperation within the framework of the GECF, OPEC+ and the bilateral format.

The current state of energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Algeria was reviewed. An agreement was reached to accelerate the creation of a joint working group under the Memorandum of Understanding on oil and gas cooperation signed between Azerbaijan and Algeria in 2022.

Issues related to the expansion of cooperation between SOCAR and Sonatrach companies and the creation of an intergovernmental commission were also discussed.

Parviz Shahbazov invited his Algerian colleague to visit Azerbaijan.
