Azerbaijan wants to build wind and solar power plants in Karabakh

Work will be carried out in three directions within the "Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of renewable and clean energy in the economic regions of Karabakh and East Zangazur" signed today by Azerbaijan with the company Masdar of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), said Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov, Report informs.
"Karabakh has great energy potential. All power plants in the region will have access to renewable energy sources. The possibility of constructing a 100-megawatt wind farm in the Kalbajar-Lachin zone, installing solar panels on houses in Karabakh, and building a solar power plant of at least 200 MW will also be explored,"
