Azerbaijan informs Japanese company about prospects of green hydrogen production

A meeting with representatives of the Japanese company Toyota Tsusho Corporation was held at the Ministry of Energy, Report informs, referring to the ministry.

According to the information, the meeting was organized at the initiative of the Secretariat of the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings. The primary purpose of the meeting was to exchange information and experience on hydrogen energy.

As reported, the prospects for the production of green hydrogen in Azerbaijan were noted. It was emphasized that following the "Socio-economic development Strategy for 2022-2026" approved by the decree of the head of state, increasing the use of renewable energy sources, environmentally friendly vehicles, and expanding the use of other green technologies is one of the main goals. The document envisages studying the potential of hydrogen production, its use, and formulating proposals for pilot projects in this field.

The representatives of the Japanese company made a presentation on the decarbonization of the transport sector. It was emphasized that renewables such as wind, solar, and especially green hydrogen had been the company's main business area in recent years.
