Azerbaijan increases solar power production by 18%

The production in the sector of electric power, gas and steam production, distribution, and supply amounted to 1.635 billion ($0.96 billion) in January-July 2022, up 2.2% from a year earlier, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

The production in the water supply, waste treatment, and processing sector has risen by 4.8%, settling at 271.5 million manats ($ $159.7 million).

Azerbaijan produced 15,300 million kWh of electric power in the reporting period, up 2.9% from the previous year.

The hydropower plants produced 1,146.8 million kWh of electricity, 33.8% higher than a year ago.

Heating power stations produced 13,586.8 million kWh of energy,0.9% more than 2021.

Wind power production fell 65.7% to 18.4 million kWh, and solar power production went up by 17.5% to 37 million kWh.
