Azerbaijan increases gas production from Shah Deniz field by over 4%

In January-September 2024, 37.1 bcm of natural gas was produced in Azerbaijan, the country's Energy Ministry said, Report informs.

This is 1.1 billion cubic meters or 2.8% more compared to the corresponding period of 2023

Some 9.8 bcm of gas production extracted from ACG, while 20.5 bcm from Shah Deniz. Absheron and SOCAR produced 1.1 bcm and 5.7 bcm gas respectively.

Gas production from ACG increased by 0.2 billion cubic meters or 2.1% during the year, from Shah Deniz field by 0.8 billion cubic meters or 4.06%, and from Absheron field by 0.7 billion cubic meters or 2.75 times.

ACG is Azerbaijan's largest oil field block. The first production-sharing agreement for the development of the field block was signed on September 20, 1994. On September 14, 2017, a new agreement was signed for the joint operation of these fields and production sharing. This agreement provides for the development of the fields until the end of 2049.
