The Azerbaijani Ministry of Energy and BP discussed the development of existing energy projects, as well as the implementation of the green energy corridor and interconnectors, Report informs, citing the ministry.
The discussions were held at a meeting between Minister Parviz Shahbazov and a delegation led by BP CEO Murray Auchincloss.
During the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the cooperation with the company in the oil and gas and renewable energy sectors, and the important role of using various types of energy in ensuring energy security, environmental protection and sustainability was emphasized. In this context, it was highlighted that Azerbaijan is an exemplary country, and the successful continuation of the cooperation that began with BP in the oil and gas sector is currently underway with the Shafag Solar Power Plant, a renewable energy project.
In addition, views were exchanged on development trends in global energy markets. Support was also expressed for the future activities of the newly appointed regional president of BP for Azerbaijan, Georgia and Türkiye, Giovanni Cristofoli, who was part of the delegation.
