Minister: No progress achievable in education system with complaints

"There are many issues pertaining to the education system and we need to look for answers to them. These questions have been asked for 20 years and they have some answers. But the answers to these questions do not affect the progress of education,” Report informs, citing Education Minister Emin Amrullayev.

In his opinion, by asking the right questions and discussing them, one can stimulate the education system to develop faster: "Azerbaijan participates in many international scientific studies and our results are not so high. Why are we low in the ranking and who is to blame for? These questions need to be answered. The education system is not moving forward by complaining. We must find a way to solve the problems."

The minister said that the Institute of Education has some success in the education sector: "During my tenure at the Institute of Education, we managed about 73 projects. We are moving towards big initiatives. The project on community-based preschools today serves over 15,000 children in more than 750 villages. This project has provided employment to 777 women in remote villages."

"If we pay attention to the discussions in the Azerbaijani media and social networks, unfortunately, we rarely come across discussions on scientific researches. We will probably come across more personal complaints, opinions, discussions that are not based on any researches, and in many cases, they are of no use or very little benefit. I would not like to blame anyone here, but let us base our discussions on scientific researches. The Institute of Education has a great burden to carry at this point. A public person does not have the capacity and ability to conduct researches. But the Institute of Education has great potential in this area," Amrullayev noted.
