Deputy minister: Improving quality of education is possible through internationalization

The status of internationalization is important for the development of education in Azerbaijan, the improvement of the education system, and increasing its international competitiveness, Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev said at an event titled "Internationalization of Science and Higher Education," Report informs.

According to Rafiyev, higher education institutions have serious responsibilities and work in this area:

"One of the main duties of higher education institutions is to properly implement and present the attention and opportunities allocated by the state to education. There are high-quality expectations through internationalization from higher education institutions, which have a special role in the process of forming the necessary human capital for the country's development and future."

Rafiyev stated that it is possible to increase quality and international competitiveness through the internationalization of education:

"Along with its economic aspect, the issue is also important for training quality local personnel according to standards. Within the framework of various programs implemented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Science and Education, many students from more than 80 countries have gained the opportunity to study at Azerbaijan's higher education institutions over five years. These scholarship programs have made significant contributions to the internationalization of education and its recognition worldwide."
