Azerbaijan, Spain adopt roadmap to expand economic ties

Azerbaijan and Spain have discussed strengthening cooperation across multiple sectors of the economy and adopted a partnership roadmap, according to Azerbaijan's Ministry of Economy.

The discussions took place during an official visit to Spain by an Azerbaijani delegation led by Elnur Aliyev, First Deputy Minister of Economy.

As part of the visit, a Spain–Azerbaijan roundtable, the second Spain–Azerbaijan Strategic Economic Dialogue, and a series of meetings with Spanish officials were held.

The roundtable brought together representatives of government institutions and companies from both countries, including Inmaculada Riera, Director General of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce; Marta Blanco, President of the International Relations Committee of the Spanish Confederation of Employers' Organizations; and Ramiz Hasanov, Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Spain.

During the event, a presentation on Azerbaijan's investment climate and business opportunities was delivered, followed by discussions on enhancing bilateral partnership.

Within the framework of the visit, the second Strategic Economic Dialogue between Azerbaijan and Spain resulted in the signing of a protocol. A partnership roadmap was also adopted as an annex to the protocol, outlining cooperation in trade, investment, transport, transit, and other areas.
