Kazakh activist Azamat Sarsenbayev from Aktau shared a video clip showing how the Caspian Sea has become shallow. He noted that residents annually observe how "the Caspian is getting shallow before their eyes," Report informs with reference to a post on Sarsenbayev’s Instagram page.
"With a heavy heart, I walked along the once bottom of our Caspian Sea... I remember how in childhood we were afraid to swim 10 meters from the shore. And here you can already walk 200 meters on bare stones that was once deep under water. Every year we anxiously watch how our Caspian Sea is becoming shallow before our eyes, and this is scary,” the activist wrote.
