Ministry: Fog observed in Baku and Absheron peninsula caused by meteorological conditions

Baku. 4 July. REPORT.AZ/ Foggy weather in Baku and Absheron peninsula is due to the meteorological conditions.

Report was informed in the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, long-lasting hot weather in Baku and Absheron peninsula, as well as high relative humidity at night and in the morning caused stagnant air above normal.

On the night of July 3 to 4, there was an atmospheric inversion near the Earth's surface. Meanwhile, according to the monitoring results obtained from the Vaisala automatic air quality transmitter, the amount of fine dust in the air was within normal at night on July 4. Therefore, the cause of the observed smoke in the air is due to meteorological conditions.

Thus, the relative humidity changed at night (from 02:25 am to 05:55 am) from 77.8 to 94.1 % (much higher than norm).

The relative humidity in the air dropped to 47.3 % at 9:25 am due to the rise in temperature in the morning.
