Baku. 26 October. REPORT.AZ / "The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources (MPR) is preparing a plan of comprehensive measures in connection with the ban on the use of plastic products."
Report informs that the due statement was made by Head of the Department of Work with Social Agencies, Environmental Awareness and Science, Department of Ecological Education and Public Relations of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources Umayra Tagiyeva.
She noted that yesterday the European Parliament decided to ban products in plastic packaging: "According to the decision, the use of plastic products should be banned by 2021. Our country also works in this direction. Thus, the Ministry prepares a plan of complex measures."
Tagiyeva noted that in order to attract the population to the collection and sorting of plastic utensils, about 100 containers have been installed in 35 districts and cities for the collection and sorting of plastic products in the framework of the campaign launched at the initiative of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources: "However, environmental problems in the country are not related only to plastic waste, but at the same time with waste generated in everyday life, in construction and at quarries."
