Azerbaijan sets example of climate leadership, UNECE official says

Azerbaijan serves as a good example for countries beginning to assume climate leadership, Deputy Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Dmitry Mariyasin stated at Baku Climate Action Week 2026 (BCAW 2026), Report informs.

According to him, Azerbaijan demonstrates an example of climate leadership in a world where some major states are unable to take on such a role.

"Azerbaijan is a very good example for countries starting to take on leadership. It is also reflected in the types of projects you approve at the board level. Be sure to apply strategic environmental assessments. Stay one step ahead and thereby increase your competitiveness," he said.
