As part of the Year of Constitution and Sovereignty, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan and AzerGold CJSC jointly held a tree planting campaign in Mushfigabad settlement on April 21, in commemoration of International Earth Day, Report informs, citing the ministry.
The event was attended by First Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Rashad Ismayilov, Chairman of the Board of AzerGold CJSC Zakir Ibrahimov, as well as executives, employees, and volunteers from both organizations.
Participants planted Eldar pine and olive trees, chosen specifically for their compatibility with the soil and climate of the Absheron peninsula.
International Earth Day, observed annually on April 22, was established by a resolution of the UN General Assembly to raise awareness about environmental protection and promote ecological consciousness.
